There is already a flyers & posters category here on the cube blog but from now on we’re planning to upload a copy of each bit of publicity as it goes to the printers. This will let people know what’s happening, but more interestingly I think, will build up an archive of our designs.

RLF was back in Bristol last weekend for the Freeze Puppy "Joyous Yelps" album launch. Seems XL are currently hosting his new remix of M.I.A.s "Bucky Done Gun". The direct link in case you can’t find it is here. NOw if I can just work out how to rate it… is three guns good or bad?
Surprising how many have 0% profanity in this clever ‘isolationist’ piece.

Ok, not strictly cubequese, but rather related. This weekend I went to Sheffield with Jem & Rod to perform that rescore of ‘Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow’ for the Lovebytes festival, comissioned by old Cubetoian Ben Slater . . .
. . . via Chis, sadly not pictured or present due to illness.
Also worse for wear was Rod . . .
. . . throwing up from unwellness not overindulgence. Chis had requested we be as rock’n’roll as possible on his behalf, but with me staying up all night to finish the rescore work and Jem doing almost similar plus driving it wasn’t exactly a rampage once we got there.
Plus the hotel window opened onto a roof, so throwing the telly out didn’t really work. Sorry Chis.
Good though despite all that, and an earlyish night out of town. We saw some interesting performances, ours went hitchlessly, and, you know, I just like Sheffield.
On the way back we stopped to shop in The Mall ( my first and possibly last visit ) . . .
. . . to get presents for Angela who’s birthday it is today.

CUBE ANNUAL 2005
Call out for writing, designing, concepts, photography, illustration, comics, articles, quizzes, photo stories, features… and the rest for Cube Annual pilot project.
Think about what The Cube Annual could look like. Imagine finding it 2nd hand in Bishopston Books on The Gloucester road in 40 years time when we’re 47.
We hope to make a Cube Annual in the near future but for now we have the pilot project. This a Commission for 16 volunteers, Cube friends, Cube luminaries to work on the pilot. 12 pieces for the annual and 4 designers to collaborate with the creators.
The Cube is 7 in October, so we’d like to show these pieces that you are going to create then. One idea is to include the pieces in the new 7″ booklet programme.
We need people to be on the annual committee too, to develop the project.
